The week · 35+ events, many of them free
Ten days, one peninsula
Car Week is not one show but dozens, spread across Monterey, Pebble Beach, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Laguna Seca and The Quail. In 2026 it ran for ten days, from 7 to 16 August, with more than 35 events, over 100,000 visitors across the county and more than 100 local charities benefiting. There is no single pass: each event sells its own tickets.

The Tour
The Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance takes concours cars out on the road: they line up before 7 a.m. and leave at 9.30 for a run of about 70 miles that traces parts of the original 17-Mile Drive and normally heads down Highway 1 through Big Sur. In 2026 the route was changed because of a wildfire. It is free to watch along the way.
2026, for reference

Getting round
Mind the fog
Expect heavy traffic all week. In 2026 Carmel ran a free shuttle from Larsen Field on Rio Road to Carmel Plaza on its car-show days, and 17-Mile Drive closes to non-Concours traffic from 12 to 15 August 2027. Road racing left Pebble Beach after 1956 for a purpose-built circuit at Laguna Seca.
