Yas Marina Circuit · Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi
Grand Prix
3–6 December 2026 · Round 24 of 24, the season finale
The race · Sunday 6 December
Lights out at five
The race starts at 17.00. The sun sets over Yas Island at about 17.33 and twilight ends by about 17.58, so a race that starts in daylight ends under floodlights.
58 laps of 5.281 km, about 306 km. First Grand Prix here: 2009.
Over the track
A hotel in a gridshell
At Yas Marina the circuit runs beneath a hotel that straddles it, wrapped in a free-form gridshell with integrated LED lighting, completed in 2009 for the first Grand Prix. After sunset it becomes a screen of moving colour above the cars.
The hotel and its canopy on screen are invented, drawn freely from the general form.
