3–6 June 2027The principality's first Sprint weekend
Drive the lap ↓A lap of the Circuit de Monaco, corner by corner
The shortest lap on the calendar, and the least forgiving.
The first Grand Prix de Monaco was run in 1929 on the principality's own streets. It has been part of the Formula 1 World Championship since the championship's first season in 1950. Every year, in the weeks before the race, the town rebuilds itself around it: grandstands go up over the harbour, barriers line the boulevards, and the square in front of the Casino becomes a corner.
At 3.337 kilometres it is the shortest lap of the season. It is narrow, close to the walls and hard to pass on, and that is exactly why it matters. In 2027 the weekend changes shape for the first time, with two qualifying sessions and two races.
The weekend
Four days in June, two races.
Monaco moved to early June in 2026. For 2027 it adds the Sprint format, which puts a short race and a second qualifying session into the weekend. Session times are published nearer the date.
